Privacy, in plain English
Longshots is a single-player quiz that runs in your browser. We ask for no account and collect no personal data. Your scores stay on your device; anonymous usage analytics help us tune the game.
What is stored
Your daily round progress, daily scores, unlimited best runs, streak and sound preference are
stored in your browser’s localStorage under the longshots:v1: prefix.
They stay on your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
Analytics
We use Google Tag Manager container GTM-PPMB44GS to load Google Analytics 4. It records
anonymous, aggregated usage such as page views, sessions, approximate country and device type, so we
can see which pages and modes people use. We do not send your typed answers, scores or local game
progress to analytics, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Google may set analytics cookies or use similar identifiers. You can block them with your browser, an extension such as uBlock Origin, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The game itself works without analytics.
What is not collected
- No names, email addresses, phone numbers or accounts.
- No advertising cookies, cross-site pixels or fingerprinting.
- No upload of your typed answers, scores or game progress to a server.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served as static files by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare may process standard technical request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver and protect the service, under its own privacy terms. Analytics data is processed by Google as described above; we do not build advertising profiles from it.
External links
Archive pages link to public sources (for example Wikipedia) for verification. Those sites have their own privacy policies; following a link leaves Longshots.
Children
Longshots is a general-audience football quiz suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal data, there is no special data processing for younger players.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, the about page explains how the game is built. This page describes current practice and may be updated if the game changes.
